What You Should Know About The Forklift Battery
If you have a forklift, then you have a forklift battery inside of the lift somewhere. All forklift trucks run off of a batter, whether they are electric or gas powered. If you are looking for a new battery for your lift, and are having trouble finding one that will fit. Chances are that you have an older lift. One that is even more older than just a few years. This is because all of the newer lifts are not hard to find the right size or type battery that is needed to run them. Check your owners manual to find out what size and type of battery you are going to need for your particular lift.
You will find a forklift battery at most any forklift part store. The part stores carry all of the parts that are needed to make sure that your lift is working properly and the way that it should. If for some reason the part store that you go to do not carry the battery that you need for your lift, then ask them if they can order you one. Many part stores can do this for you, but some of them might make you pay for the battery in advance. If this is the case and you really need the battery, just keep the receipt in case of any confusion about whether or not you have paid for it arises later when the battery comes in for you to pick it up.
Some forklift batteries are rechargeable. The ones that are used on the electric lifts, and can be plugged into the power source for a fresh and newly charged battery. If you find that your battery is running low a lot faster than a new battery does, you may be charging it too often. Check your owners manual to find out how long the battery should last on a full charge. Doing so will let you know how often to charge your battery. If you are charging it before it is all the way dead, then chances are it will not last you very long at all. However, check your manual that pertains to your particular forklift for better clarification on that.
The forklift battery is what makes your forklift go. You can not run a lift without having a battery inside of it and you really need to be sure that you get a battery with a warranty if you have to go and buy a new one. You will be glad later on that you did.
